Delivery Requirements

Space requirements for a 20ft container delivery with a truck.

20ft Shipping Containers

A 20ft container delivery requires a minimum straight-line clearance of 60 feet, 11 feet of width, 14 feet of loaded height clearance, and approximately 17 feet of overhead clearance during unloading as the container is tilted from the trailer onto the ground. Delivery trucks must be able to access the site in a straight line, as they cannot turn while unloading.

Space requirements for 40ft container delivery including dimensions and unloading notes.

40ft Shipping Container

A 40ft container delivery requires a minimum straight-line clearance of 100 feet, 11 feet of width, 14 feet of loaded height clearance, and approximately 18 feet of overhead clearance during unloading as the container is tilted from the trailer onto the ground. Delivery trucks must be able to access the site in a straight line, as they cannot turn while unloading.

Space requirements for a 53ft container delivery with dimensions and notes.

53ft Container

A 53ft container delivery requires a minimum straight-line clearance of 150 feet, 14 feet of width, 15 feet of loaded height clearance, and approximately 20 feet of overhead clearance during unloading. Due to the size and weight of a 53ft container, crane unloading or specialized lifting equipment may be required, depending on the delivery location. Delivery vehicles must have straight-line access, as they cannot turn while unloading.

Door Direction

Before your container is dispatched, please let us know your preferred door orientation. You can choose Doors to the Cab, where the container doors face the truck cab, or Doors to the Rear, where the doors face the back of the trailer. Selecting the correct orientation ensures your container is placed exactly as needed, providing convenient access and reducing the need to reposition the container after delivery.
